Lynne Deadrick

Lynne Deadrick is in her ninth season as head coach of the Yellowjacket volleyball team. She enters the 2011 season with a record of 111-158. She reached the 100-win mark with the Yellowjackets on October 24, 2009, a 3-0 win over Stevens Point. And became the all-time leader in wins among UW-Superior volleyball coaches, passing Marcia Engebretson (104 wins from 1991-96) on September 11, 2010.

Deadrick came to UW-Superior from Vermilion Community College in Ely, Minn., where she was the head volleyball coach for 12 seasons, compiling a 127-192-2 record and guiding the Ironwomen to a region championship and a fifth place national tournament finish in 1999. Deadrick also has thirteen years of experience coaching collegiate softball and fifteen years as a head high school basketball coach at Ely High School.

Deadrick enjoyed a prolific athletic career at the college level, beginning at Vermilion Community College where she was a four-sport athlete, competing in basketball, softball and track in addition to volleyball. In 1983, Deadrick and her team made a national tournament appearance, finishing tenth in the nation among all junior college volleyball teams. After earning her associates degree from Vermilion, it was on to St. Scholastica where she played volleyball, helping the Saints claim the 1984 Little College Athletic Association national championship. The following year, Deadrick enrolled at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, continued her volleyball career and earned her bachelor of science degree in broad field and life science in 1987. At that time she also obtained her Minnesota Coaching Certification. In 1996, Deadrick earned her master's degree from UW-Superior in instruction.

Deadrick resides in Esko, Minn. with her husband Shane, an admissions counselor at UW-Superior and their children Kayla (20), Keely (19), a freshman on the Yellowjacket volleyball team and Kory (15).
